Additionally, you may want to find a quiet space where you can fully immerse yourself in the experience. Having a pen and paper or a recording device handy can also be helpful to capture insights and messages.

  • What traditions do you work with?
At Ejiogbe Institute, we embrace the rich tapestry of African and Afrodiasporic traditions. Our services draw upon ancient wisdom and practices that have been passed down through generations. We integrate elements within African Traditional Religions including Ifá (Yoruba), Fa (Fon/Ewe), Vodun (Benin/Togo), and elements of Kongo-derived and diasporic systems such as Haitian Vodou, Palo Mayombe, and Candomblé with ancestral healing, herbalism, and various forms of energy work. Our approach combines these time-honored traditions with modern techniques, creating a holistic pathway to healing and empowerment. We honor the diverse cultural heritage and spiritual practices of the Afrodiaspora, ensuring a deep and meaningful connection to the roots of our work.
  • I’ve been harmed by spiritual workers before. How do I know this is safe?
Your safety, consent, and clarity come first at Ejiogbe Institute. We operate with integrity, transparency, and a deep respect for ancestral law. Here, you will never experience coercion, pressure, or fear-based solutions. Our commitment is to provide spiritual work, not spiritual manipulation. We prioritize your well-being and empower you to make informed decisions on your journey.
  • Do I need to be initiated to receive a reading or spiritual work?
No. Most of my services are available to both initiates and non-initiates. I will always tell you if something requires initiation, ancestral permission, or spiritual clearance before proceeding.
  • What’s the difference between Ifá and Vodun?
Ifá is a Yoruba divination and cosmological system governed by Orunmila, utilizing 256 Odu to guide practitioners on their spiritual journeys. In contrast, Vodun (or Vodoun) originates from the Fon and Ewe cultures and interacts with a variety of spirits such as Fá, Legba, Dan, and Sakpata, among others. While both Ifá and Vodun are rooted in African traditions, they possess distinct languages, cosmologies, and initiatory structures that define their unique practices and beliefs.
  • What is a Fa or Ifá reading like?
A Fa or Ifá reading (also called dafa or consultation) is a spiritual diagnostic. Using sacred tools like ikin (palm nuts) and opele, I reveal your governing Odu (or Kponli), the Orisa or Vodun speaking to you, your spiritual condition, and recommend rituals or offerings (ebbo) for alignment.
  • Do you offer long-term mentorship or training?
Yes. I offer both private mentorship and structured classes for those who want to deepen their path in Ifá, Vodun, or ancestral work. Some paths may require commitment, divinatory clearance, or spiritual permission.
  • Do you offer spiritual cleansings or rituals?
Yes, we offer spiritual cleansings and rituals when prescribed by divination. Cleansings (both physical and spiritual) and rituals are conducted with deep respect for traditional methods and may require specific herbs, prayers, or sacred objects. Every ritual is customized based on what Ifa, Fa, or Vodun dictates for you.
  • Can I practice these traditions if I’m not African or Black?
Tradition is rooted in culture, not trend. These systems are not closed to those who approach with respect, commitment, and guidance. I work with sincere seekers from many backgrounds, but always uphold cultural integrity and lineage responsibility.
